Celebrate...

June is a busy birthday month in our family. We get to celebrate alot of special days and events!

We kick off June with my middle daughters birthday and then wrap it up with my birthday and my oldest daughters birthday near the end of the month! On the heels of our three birthdays in June comes my husbands birthday in early July. So, in a span about about 4 1/2 weeks, we get to celebrate 4 birthdays, Children's Day, Best Friends Day and Fourth of July!

Kina chose a "cookie cake" from the Great American Cookie Company this year for her birthday instead of my tradition of making homemade birthday cakes for the girls. I surprised her with the "design" and had them decorate it with a "Minecraft Creeper" (similar, not exact, because of that whole "we can't decorate with trademarked or copyrighted designs" thing the clerk told me about when I placed the order).

I'm not sure whether Jada will have me make her cake this year or if she, like Kina, will choose something different this year. We will have to wait a few more weeks and see.

The girls and I are visiting my family in Alabama this month on what we are calling "Our Summer Adventure" -- we're enjoying time in the pool, harvesting fresh vegetables from my parents garden and catching up with some old friends.

We're also on "baby watch" waiting for our sweet Haley to have her baby any day now. Haley was our babysitter when we lived in Alabama and quickly became a part of our family. Now she and her husband, Ryan, are starting their own family! The girls and I can't wait to meet Baby Liam and celebrate with Haley and Ryan the arrival of their first baby boy!

Our friends, Gale and Rusty, are celebrating their 28th wedding anniversary today. I was honored to be a part of their special day so many years ago. They are a sweet couple and great friends. Happy Anniversary!

Our friend, Marea, is celebrating the high school graduation of her first born this month. It is hard to believe Noah is old enough to be graduating from high school. Seems like yesterday that Noah and Jada were toddlers and playing together. Time is a flying! Congrats, Noah!

Our friends, Mike and Lisa, are celebrating their 12th "Gotcha Day" with their beautiful daughter from China. I still remember the first time that they asked us about our adoption process for Jada and then shared they had made the decision to adopt from China. Happy Gotcha Day to Ayla and family!

Our friend, Kassy, is celebrating her 18th birthday this month. Wow, 18 already? How can this be? Happy Birthday, Kassy!

I'm sure I missed some others....not intentionally of course....but hope every one of you that is celebrating something special this month has a great time. Whether it is a birthday, anniversary, a new baby, wedding or whatever....enjoy your special day!
